RAB-3 arrested 6 drug dealers along with a large amount of ganja in a separate operation from Jatrabari and Wari of the capital in Siddhirganj area of Narayanganj district.
According to RAB, the drug dealer gang has been buying and selling drugs from various border areas of Comilla and Narayanganj in different parts of the country including the capital, avoiding the eyes of the law and order forces for the last three years. They used to trade drugs under different professions.
The arrested are the ringleaders. Suruj (20), Md. Shimul (24), Md. Shahin (24), Md. Milon (28), Md. Royal (27) and Md. Ashraful Islam (28). During this time, 150 kg of ganja filled with multiple bags and 1 truck were seized.

During the questioning of the arrested accused in the press conference, he said that the master of this drug dealer gang is Suruj and his main associate truck driver Royal. According to the plan of the two, their other 4 associates help in bringing and transporting the consignment of illegal drugs at various times. They plan to build a drug trafficking ring with the hope of making more money with less effort.
The captain of RAB-3 said that the gang used to use different fake names and identity at different times in various novel ways and used to bring consignments of illegal narcotics ganja from various areas of Comilla including Narayanganj in trucks and passenger cars and keep them in their custody and sell them in different parts of the country including the capital. They regularly transport and deliver large consignments of drugs to different parts of the country.
Lt. Colonel Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed said, among the accused, the main one is Suruj, a pickup truck driver by profession. He used to drive pickup in Chapainawabganj area for a long time. Later, from 2020, he started helping trucks on the Dhaka-Comilla highway and got involved in drug trade in the hope of earning more money under the cover of that profession. In addition to that work, he started smuggling drugs very easily. He also said that he created a huge drug buying and selling syndicate with his five associates by bringing illegal drugs ganja to different areas of the capital from different border areas of Comilla including Narayanganj. In this way, they have been carrying on their illegal drug business for a long time by bringing the biggest consignments of drugs to the capital. According to RAB, the associate of the said gang, Ashraful, is a CNG driver by profession. He was already transporting drug consignments under the guise of driving CNG. At one stage, his criminal activities accelerated after he met Suruj, the master of the said circle. Ashraful’s brother-in-law, Milan, is brought in for the job, hoping for more profit, and later lures Suraj with the lure of working with him for a hefty sum of money. In this way, they had been spreading drugs throughout the capital by trading drugs according to Suruj’s plan for a long time. A combination of them was arrested by law and order forces in 2021 in Jatrabari police station area with drug shipment. Milon served 54 days in jail and was released on bail. Later, after being released on bail, he engaged in the same profession.
Also, two other associates of the gang, Shimul’s profession was Bhangari business and Shaheen was a van driver, along with carrying illegal drugs. The RAB official also said that legal action against them is under process.
