The temperature in Kolkata has increased slightly, but winter remains for now


#Kolkata: Kolkata’s temperature rose slightly. However, the winter spell continues for now. Day and night temperatures are at or near normal across the state. Chance of moderate fog over North Bengal and light fog over South Bengal coast. On Monday, i.e., light rain may occur in Darjeeling today. There is no chance of rain anywhere else in the state.

According to the sources of Meteorological Department, the sky of Kolkata will be mostly clear today. A little fog or mist in the morning will clear later. Even if the temperature rises a little, the winter will remain for a few more days.

The minimum temperature this morning was 16.8 degrees Celsius. Two degrees above normal. Yesterday the temperature was 14.7 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature yesterday afternoon was 26 degrees Celsius. One degree below normal. The amount of water vapor in air is 55-95 percent. In the next 24 hours, the temperature in Kolkata will be between 17 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius.

There is very little chance of light rain over the hilly areas of Darjeeling and Kalimpong in North Bengal. In next 24 hours i.e. Monday, Tuesday these 2 days are likely to rain. Besides, there is no chance of rain anywhere else in the state. Due to the influence of westerly winds, the amount of water vapor will be high in the districts adjacent to the hilly areas of North Bengal. As a result, there is a possibility of fog in the hilly areas and adjacent areas for the next few days. Chance of light to moderate fog over upper districts of North Bengal.

In South Bengal, light fog may occur in coastal adjoining districts. There is no chance of fog in rest of the district. clear sky Day and night temperatures will be below normal or below, with a wintry feel throughout the day. Temperatures may drop to 10 degrees or below in western districts. Winter conditions are looming in several districts of South Bengal.

Low pressure over South Bay of Bengal. Low pressure is located in South Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean area. This low pressure will move further westwards and stay in southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast. It will strengthen and move closer to Sri Lankan coast in the next 24 hours. Chances of heavy rain are increasing in the areas adjacent to the Tamil Nadu coast. Heavy to very heavy rain warning is in place over Tamil Nadu coast from December 22 to 22.

Virtually cold current conditions in northwest India. Minus temperature is going on in Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas. Cold flow will continue for a few more days. Continuous cold wave warning over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and North Rajasthan. Adjacent areas of these districts will also experience cold flow conditions.

Temperatures may drop further in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh in the next few days. Temperatures are expected to drop by two to four degrees. Heavy fog will prevail in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh for the next two days. Dense fog over plains of northwest India including Delhi and Haryana.
