Recently, former Superintendent Ramakrishna Hembram was criticized by the local MLA for the services of Ashoknagar State General Hospital. in Barasat MLA Narayan Goswami raised a direct question about his work in a meeting related to health in the district magistrate’s office. It was seen that the state health department accepted the complaint of the MLA. Ramakrishnababu was in charge of Ashoknagar State General Hospital for more than two and a half years. Finally, he was transferred to the charge of a block hospital.
Habra Hospital Superintendent Vivekananda Biswas will handle the additional charge of Ashoknagar State General Hospital Superintendent for the time being. An Assistant Superintendent has also been appointed to assist him.
Ashoknagar State General Hospital was converted into a Covid hospital. But in the post-Corona stage, various questions started to arise about the medical services here. With unsanitary garbage strewn all over the hospital, there were regular complaints about emergency services. As a result, the number of patients gradually decreases. And with that, Ashoknagar MLA Narayan Goswami pointed the finger at hospital superintendent Ramakrishna Hembram. Ashoknagar Kalyangarh Municipality Mayor Prabodh Sarkar also expressed his anger. The opposition also raised the issue. However, the CPM has also questioned the path taken by the state health department to solve this problem. The opposition has come together as to why two important hospitals have been entrusted to one superintendent. They allege that the government is playing tricks on the health of common people.
